Our elected trustees hold two-year, staggered terms to ensure continuity and fidelity to the mission and bylaws of our congregation. With a focus on long-range planning, finances, and policy, the Board of Trustees guides congregational life, informed by Unitarian Universalist Association best practices, as well as current models of effective and efficient leadership in keeping with our liberal religious tradition. Coordinating Team
The Coordinating Team (C-Team) meets monthly on the second Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Cottage. Our role is one of oversight, coordination, and facilitation of the day-to-day operations of Live Oak. The team is comprised of the minister, the administrative coordinator, and Board-appointed congregants. The C Team oversees ministries, facilities, and rentals. Additionally, the C Team holds three inter-ministry Council of Chairs meetings per year. To contact anyone on the team please use our email address: coordinatingteam@liveoakgoleta.org.
Ministries ~ The C Team encourages the best possible use of volunteer time and energy through the monitoring of the roles and functions of the various ministries, and through the coordination of the ministries as a whole as well supporting the formation of new groups. We also assist, if needed, in clarifying budget issues.
Rentals ~ The C Team performs a support role in this area and the Administrator has primary duties regarding rentals.
Facilities ~ In addition, the C Team works with the Facilities Team on buildings and. grounds issues, especially related to rentals, tenants, and leases.
